On the period 05 – 10 of October, a delegation of enterprises and representatives of Business Support Organizations from Republic of Moldova with the main activities in textile, confection and apparel sector, participated in a study visit in Lithuania, conducted by ProEntranse organization.
On 6th October 2022, the Moldovan delegation together with our partners from Lithuania attended the „Sustainability & Circular Economy in Textile” Conference in Kaunas, along with Laura Velasco from Eurochambres & Jeanne Robles from European Commission DG Near.
Eurochambres Senior Project Manager, Laura Velasco highlighted that the event was a milestone for both the textile sector and the #EU4BCC project as a whole. The involvement of #SMEs in such initiatives is key for #Europe’s & #EAP economic development.
On 7 and 8 of October, Moldovan companies from textile and apparel sector, together with representatives of Business Support Organizations participated at the international exhibition MADE IN LITHUANIA 2022 in Kaunas. The goal of the exhibition was to present products and services created in Lithuania, encourage the consumption of Lithuanian products, and strengthen the communication between Lithuanian and abroad companies.
This year the matchmaking event for the private sector targeted the textile sector:
• FASHION & STYLE: Fashion brands/labels; outwear and underwear and knitwear for men, women, and children; sportswear; leather and fur wear and accessories; work wear, uniforms; internet sales in fashion items; designers’ works; clothing accessories.
• TEXTILE, RAW MATERIALS & INTERIOR: Fabrics, knitted and non-woven material, technical and home textiles, interior decorations; fiber, yarns, textile accessories, textile dyes, and subsidiary materials.
• LEATHER, FOOTWEAR & CRAFTS: Leather, leather haberdashery; footwear for women, men and children; handicrafts; art and design works.
• MACHINERY, TECHNOLOGIES & LOGISTICS: Textile, sewing and knitting machinery, subsidiary parts, technologies, CAD/CAM systems, equipment, services and supply; research and education, innovations, training and consulting services; logistic services for textile and apparel products; packaging and commercial equipment.
During 2 days, individual meetings with potential partners based on individual needs where organized for Moldovan beneficiaries as an exchange experience between Moldovan and Lithuanian companies.
On October 9, 2022, the companies from the Republic of Moldova together with Business Support Organizations were invited to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Lithuania by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Mr. Emil DRUC.
The discussions were based on the development of links and synergies between the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania with the potential of initiating new collaborations, including the textile and apparel field. The representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Lithuania showed themselves open to offer all the support for this purpose and to contribute to the investment attraction and development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Moldova.
The study visit of enterprises and representatives of Business Support Organizations from Moldova was organized by European Movement Lithuania, within the project „Study visits – a way to sustainable fashion (SV-SF)”, ENI/2019/411-865 – EU4BCC, with the financial support of the EU4Business initiative of the European Union, implemented together with ProEntranse organization from Moldova.
